|
4) Value-added digital photo prints
The SnapLab UPCR20L digital photo printer
offers various prints
which can be premium priced vs. a
standard 4x6 instant digital photo.
These variations can include:
Border

Split
image prints
ProMatte
finish

prints |
|
 |
 |
4-1) Borders The UPCR20L offers high-quality
instant digital prints with the easy addition of printed or
transparent borders. Users can easily overlay
preloaded images, event logos and design frames without
having to use a PC. Border designs can be created
utilizing image editing software, such as Adobe® Photoshop®,
and then saving the data in a PNG format. Created
borders can then be exported in the desired format with the
supplied SnapLab utility software. Further, data can
be exported directly to a CompactFlash™ card or imported to
a CompactFlash card by using the expansion slot on the front
the SnapLab printer.
Note! Border data must be preloaded onto a CompactFlash card
and then inserted into the expansion slot compartment found
on top of the SnapLab UPCR20L printer.
Note: UPCR10L borders are not compatible with UPCR20L. |

4-2) Split Images
The UPCR20L offers built-in templates (based on media
size) that enables users to create a variety of multiple
digital photos for novelty products, adding additional value
to each print. |
 |
|
4-3) Sony ProMatte™ Finish
An industry first in instant digital photo printing,
Sony’s ProMatte and glossy prints can be produced on the
UPCR20L by using the same print pack. The different finishes
are produced using Sony’s unique lamination technology so
there’s no need to change paper to achieve this unique look. |
|
 |
4-4)
Sepia and B&W Prints
The UPCR20L can produce Sepia and
B&W transformation functions to allow
prints to look like old time photos. |
|
5) Variety of digital photo print sizes
The
UPCR20L can produce
four (4) different print sizes:
3.5x5”,
4x6”, 5x7” and 6x8”.
By utilizing the “Half Cut”
feature,
the 6x8 media roll
can be utilized to produce
2-up 4x6 or a
5x7with white
border. This allows for ultimate
flexibility
without having to replace
different size print packs. |
 |
| 6) Various digital media inputs The
UPCR20L accepts today’s most popular digital media. These
include memory cards, USB flash memory and CD/DVD disc
(read-only; CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW). |
|
 |
|
 |
| 7) Wireless shoot-to-print feature
With the use of digital cameras capable of FTP auto file
transfers (i.e. Nikon D300, Canon D40), the UPCR20L can be
used to automatically receive and print images. The
images are transferred via wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (10/100
Base T) connection and stored in a HOT folder in the
expansion CompactFlash card as an FTP server.
This new feature allows event photographers to concentrate
on photo shoots not print management. This feature
dramatically improves and streamlines the professional
photographer’s workflow at event venues and allows for
one-man operation. In the HOT folder, photographers
can select either:
Erase
printed images after print: As name implies, once images are
printed the files are deleted (stored in the camera memory
card)
Leave
printed images after print: Photographer can re-print saved
images upon request. Further, it’s possible to overlay
borders, logos, photographers name, event name or custom
designed frame onto all transferred images
Note: Requires a Silex USB Wireless Adapter
and CompactFlash card (purchased separately).
Necessary data must be preloaded onto the CF card and
inserted into printer’s expansion slot. |
|
 |
 |
 |
8) Security cable compatibility The
UPCR20L system is equipped with a security
cable slot. The printer can be conveniently tethered
to deter theft. Visit
www.kensington.com for various security-cable solutions. |
| 9) Simple firmware updates
UPCR20L printer firmware can be updated via memory card or
CD/DVD disks. Updates can be performed easily from the
“system log” in the administrator menu. Firmware available
at:
www.sony.net/snaplab |
 |
10) Easy maintenance
The front-loading and auto-loading mechanism
of the UPCR20L enables easy replacement of paper roll and
ribbon. Simply open the front door and insert paper
roll and ribbon. For added security, the ribbon door
locks while power is on. If necessary, lock can be
released in administration menu. To help prevent defects
such as white stripes and speckled scratches, thermal heads
and rollers should be cleaned periodically. The
recommendation is cleaning after every 2,000 prints.
Cleaning is easy by utilizing the
cleaning ribbon and cleaning sheet.
|
| 11) Watermark Order Numbers
& File Names on Prints The order number or file name
can be printed by the UPCR20L on the edge of each digital
photo in a “watermark” fashion. By using reflection
and angling the photo, the order numbers and file names can
be seen. This feature allows the user to easily sort
the prints by order numbers or re-print images by using the
file name. |
| 12) Screen saver customization
When the printer is not in operation, owners can display
their promotional images on the UPCR20L color LCD.
These images can be company logos, promotional information
such as new seasonal borders, price promotion etc. A
maximum of five (5) images can be displayed sequentially as
promotional images.
The custom promotional image can be created using photo
editing software and preloaded onto a CompactFlash card and
inserted into the expansion slot.
File Name: promo1.bmp/jpg ˜ promo5.bmp/jpg
Size: 640 x 480 pixel
Format: BMP 24Bits Windows Format or JPEG |
| 13) Image preload function
The printer owner can select whether data for ordered images
are preloaded into the UPCR20L before printing starts.
If the image preload is enabled, data for ordered are loaded
from a memory card or CD/DVD onto the CompactFlash card
before printing starts. When loading is completed, a
message prompting the user to remove the memory card or
CD/DVD disc is displayed. This message reminder
minimizes the risk of user leaving their digital media in
the printer. |
|
14) Multiple language support The
UPCR20L SnapLab printer supports 12 languages which can be
preselected from the administration menu. Owners can
select 6 of the 12 offered languages to be displayed. |
|
15) Job ticket printing
Job tickets can be printed either on thermal
paper utilizing an Epson TM88III/IV receipt printer or
directly on the photo paper** used in the UPCR20L SnapLab
printer. This feature allows the customer to bring up
the printed job ticket to the cashier for order payment.
The barcode can be included on the job ticket via special
files in the expansion Compact Flash. |
 |
| 16) Large image preview
A large image preview screen is available by touching the
magnifying glass icon. This allows customers to check
the detail of the photo before ordering a final print. |
|
 |
 |
17) Band pricing
Setting band pricing is easy on the UPCR20L
SnapLab printer. Owners can vary the price per print
based on the number of prints ordered. This allows
volume discounts for large orders. If desired, an
initial fee can also be preset as a service charge to be
added to every customer order regardless of the final order
quantity.
