High Speed Printing A5 Size
Sony’s proprietary printing mechanics and highly sensitive print media ensure rapid printing with newly developed high speed processing chips.
Full color images can be printed in a fast 30 seconds.
Up to 5 x 6.5 inches (125.8 x 165.1 mm) of image area can be reproduced with the NTSC video signal, with a normal print mode pixel area of 976 lines x 1920 dots.

Four Frame Memories
The UP-5500 features four built-in frame memories capable of storing four full images. An additional four frame memory board option (UPK-5500) can be added for a total of eight full images, each of which can be printed in a variety of Multiple Print Modes, in either individual or duplicate images.

Multiple Analog Video Input Capability
The UP-5500 accepts 525 line analog RGB, S-Video (Y/C) and composite video signals which conform to EIA and NTSC standards. With the optional memory board UPK-5501NP, the printer can accept CCIR/PAL video and 625 line analog RGB signals.

Digital Printing
The optional SCSI interface board UPK-5502SC provides users with direct connection to a variety of computers and networks. This board digitizes the analog video signal and transfers the data to other digital products, such as a computer, external storage devices or networks. The digital data received through the SCSI interface can then be converted back to an analog signal and be viewed on a video monitor as well. Adobe PhotoShop Plug-in Export Modules are provided for Apple Macintosh and PC Windows compatibility.

Picture-in-Picture Function
When the UP-5500 is set in the Split Mode, the connected monitor can display both source video and captured images in the internal image frame memory simultaneously. You can then return to source, capture another image, and place it in the remaining Split Mode position.

Convenient Remote Controls
For convenient remote operation of the printer, optional wired, wireless and foot
switch controls are available.

Loop-Through Output for System Power Saving
When the power to the UP-5500 is OFF, images can still be viewed on a connected monitor
by looping through the printer. This loop-through function reduces the total power consumption
of the system.
