What Aspect Ratio does my Camera use?

There are new digital cameras that are now on the market from the major manufacturers (Sony, Olympus and Kodak..) that actually let you shoot in a 3:2 mode.  This would allow you to print a borderless 4" x 6" print using the UPC-10P23 Print Pack.  You can print to the UPC-10P23 and get a borderless print with the UPC-10P34 Print Pack resolutions, you just have to change the size of your canvas using Photoshop SE (Photoshop SE is shipped with the UP-DP10).  You will be clipping off some of the top and bottom of your picture.  Make sure to choose Image, then Canvas Size and change the canvas size to one of the UPC-10P23 Print Pack resolutions (change it to the one that closely matches the resolution that the image is).  For example, if your Image resolution is 1280 x 960, change the canvas size of the image to 1280 x 850.  Make sure you change the canvas size and not the image size.

Another way of changing the size of the image is with the Rectangular Marquee Tool in Photoshop. The following are instructions:

Double Click on the Rectangular Marquee Tool Icon within the Icon menu on the left part of your screen in Photoshop. It is the top left Icon.

When the box pops up on the right
(make sure you double click on the icon or the box won't come up),

choose Marquee Options, then click on the drop down menu next to Style:.  Now choose fixed size.

If your picture resolution is 1280 x 960 and you want to print a borderless 4" x 6" print using the UPC-10P23, make the width 1280 pixels and the height 850 pixels.  Now you can close this box by clicking on the x in the top right of the box.  Now when you depress the Rectangular Marquee Tool icon button once, put your cursor over the image and click on it. You will see a Marquee box that you can move around on your image by holding the left mouse button down.

Now click on Image at the top of the page and click on crop from the pull down list and your done.

 You now have changed your 1280 x 960 image into a 1280 x 850 image ready to be printed out as a 4" x 6" borderless print.
